Sorta remember it being OK b/c she claimed part Cherokee


but betting that wasn't really true, her mother claimed, Indian, Irish and English ancestry per wiki but I could see that being one of those strange tropes where everyone claimed to have American Indian way back in their family history. (maybe true, I dunno) Her dark features are clearly her half Armenian side, (yes, like the Khardashians) and I'm kinda seeing that as having been pawned off as native American.

I would guess now she'd get skewered for full (Hollywood) plains Indian headress if she were to do that again, cultural appropriation and all that.
